Ready to transfer files between your Android phone and Windows PC without any cables or cloud uploads? You're in the right place. Here's everything you need to get Quick Share running on your computer.
Download from Android.comQuick Share works on most modern Windows computers. Here's what your PC needs to have:
Safe, secure, and trusted by millions
The whole process takes about 2 minutes. Here's exactly what to do:
Open your browser and go to android.com/better-together/quick-share-app. This is Google's official page, so you know you're getting the real deal — no bundled software or sneaky adware.
You'll download a file called BetterTogetherSetup.exe (around 2-3 MB). Don't
worry about the name — "Better Together" was the project's internal codename at Google.
Double-click the downloaded file. If Windows SmartScreen pops up with a warning (since it's a new download), click "More info" and then "Run anyway" — the app is perfectly safe and signed by Google.
Once installed, Quick Share will ask you to sign in. This step is optional but recommended — it lets you easily share with your own devices and manage your visibility settings across platforms.
Choose who can discover your PC: "Your devices" (only your Google account devices), "Contacts" (people in your contacts list), or "Everyone" (for 10 minutes when you're expecting a transfer). You can change this anytime.
If you're using a Samsung laptop or PC, download "Quick Share by Samsung" from the Microsoft Store instead. It's the Samsung-customized version that works even better with Galaxy phones and tablets.

Download Quick Share for WindowsMost issues have simple solutions — here are the common ones
This is usually a Bluetooth or visibility issue. First, make sure Bluetooth is turned on in your Windows settings (not just Wi-Fi). Then check that Quick Share visibility isn't set to "Hidden." Try setting it to "Everyone" temporarily while testing. Also, make sure both devices are within about 30 feet of each other — walls and obstacles can reduce the effective range.
Slow transfers usually mean Quick Share fell back to Bluetooth instead of using Wi-Fi Direct. Make sure Wi-Fi is enabled on both your phone and PC (they don't need to be on the same network, just have Wi-Fi turned on). If you're on a corporate network with restrictions, that could also interfere. Try disconnecting from any VPN connections during the transfer.
First, try the classic fix: uninstall Quick Share completely, restart your PC, and reinstall from the official website. Make sure your Windows is fully updated — Quick Share relies on some system components. If you're using antivirus software, try temporarily disabling it or adding Quick Share to the exception list.
By default, Quick Share saves everything to your Downloads folder in a subfolder called
"Quick Share." You can find it at C:\Users\YourName\Downloads\Quick Share. If
you want to change this location, open Quick Share settings by clicking the gear icon in the
app.
